Movement is Medicine

Movement is not only important for your physical health, but also for your mental and emotional well-being. Movement can help you reduce stress, improve your mood, boost your energy, and prevent chronic diseases. Physical activity is also fun and enjoyable, especially if you participate in activities that suit your personal preferences and goals.

One of the perks of living and working in the White Rock / South Surrey area, is that we have countless options for being active outdoors. Whether you enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, tennis, pickleball or just walking along the beach, you can find something in our City by the Sea that makes you happy and healthy.

Here are a few of our favourite ways to be active in White Rock:

- Challenge yourself to 1001 Steps. It's a terrific workout for your legs and lungs, and you can enjoy the beautiful views along the way.

- Go Green in Ruth Johnson Park. Numerous paths weave through the ferns and forest as you follow a steep descent towards the waterfront.

- Kayak or SUP at Crescent Beach. Rent a kayak or Stand Up Paddleboard from the Crescent Beach Paddle Shack and explore Crescent Beach and the Nicomekl River. You might even spot seals, eagles, or herons on your adventure.

- Walk the White Rock Pier. This pier is the longest in Canada and stretches for 470 meters into the sea. It's a popular spot for walking, fishing, and sightseeing. Enjoy the fresh air, the ocean breeze, and the stunning views of the mountains and Gulf islands.
