Dry Needling - More than just pins and needles.

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

Do you endure lingering or recurrent muscle pain? You may be suffering from chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain caused by nerve irritation or dysfunction. The good news – we have successfully treated patients with these symptoms using a technique called intramuscular stimulation. (IMS)

Sometimes called “dry needling”, IMS is a technique our certified Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation practitioners use to release or lengthen muscles that are causing the chronic pain. Basically, very fine needles are inserted directly into the affected muscle in order to stimulate healing. The effects of IMS are cumulative as each individual needling session stimulates a certain amount of healing until eventually the condition can more fully recover and pain dissipates as muscles loosen.

A broad range of musculoskeletal conditions are now successfully treated using IMS, including:

  • Headaches

  • Achilles tendonitis

  • IT band syndrome

  • Back pain

  • Whiplash

  • Tennis elbow

  • Frozen shoulder

  • Stiffness in muscles and joints

Book an assessment today and we will determine if IMS is the right approach for you.
